Aram Glorig

A hearing specialist, Glorig established Walter Reed Army Hospital's Audiology and Speech Correction Center to help World War II personnel with hearing problems created by the war. He not only worked to design lighter and smaller hearing aids, he worked to reduce damage to ears in the first place by researching safe noise level standards. The standards were adopted by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for all U.S. employees, not just the military. Glorig died June 22 at age 92.
