Fernand Sastre

Sastre, an official with the French Football Federation, was in large part responsible for the successful drive to get the World Cup hosted in France this year. Unfortunately, he was too ill to attend the opening of the games. Sastre was also on the France's 1988 Olympic organizing committee. He died 6 June of lung cancer at age 74.
