Mike Marmer

A writer, Marmer worked on dozens of television's best-remembered shows, including Gilligan's Island, F Troop and Get Smart. He wrote for some of the top names in the business, such as Ernie Kovacs, Steve Allen, Jack Paar, Flip Wilson, the Smothers Brothers and Milton Berle. He scripted 20 of the Dean Martin's Roast shows, and co-wrote the Carol Burnet Show sketch Went With the Wind, a parody of "Gone With the Wind" that won a 1972 Emmy Award. Marmer also won four Writers Guild Awards for his classic work. Marmer died January 12 from cancer. He was 76.
