An early Russian cosmonaut, Khrunov was part of the crew of the first manned docking with another manned spacecraft in orbit. Aboard Soyuz 5, Khrunov and two other cosmonauts docked with Soyuz 4, manned by one cosmonaut. Khrunov and cosmonaut Aleksei Yeliseyev then spacewalked and boarded Soyuz 4, and landed safely. Khrunov died recently at age 67; the date and circumstances were not announced.
